The Hazelett Marine elastic rode is a proprietary advanced elastomer technology that is proven and tested with 35+ years of experience. The elastic comes in four sizes and two stiffness levels. It is used for a number of applications including swing moorings, docks/pontoons, wave attenuators, navigation buoys and floating solar arrays. When integrated into a mooring line, the Hazelett Marine Elastic Rode provides unparalleled stability, constant tension and extends the design life of the floating structure. Tests conducted by a third party accredited testing facility conclude that a single Hazelett Marine Elastic Rode will withstand over 20kn (4,496 lbs) of force. The elastic can repeatedly elongate over 200% and return to original length.
The Hazelett Marine elastic floats above the sea bed with a minimal environmental footprint, reduces point loads, reduces wind loads, increases mooring density, and provides a more gentle dock motion.

Inspection & Maintenance
The Hazelett elastic system has a 10-year life expectancy and requires minimal maintenance. Docks anchored with Hazelett elastics have uniform loads on the entire structure. Our single point systems reduce point loads and ensure boats stay pointed directly into the wind with a constant, gentle pull. While our mooring system requires minimal maintenance, we recommend the elastics be inspected on a yearly basis and after strong weather events such as hurricanes. Inspections should be conducted regularly by trusted and qualified mooring installers. If desired, we are partnered with quality inspectors who will be happy to travel to project sites to inspect moorings and guarantee the integrity of the mooring system(s).

The Hazelett Elastic Mooring Rode offers a better solution. The elasticity within the mooring set-up eliminated entirely the ‘snatch’ associated with chain moorings during heavy weather and helps the boat to maintain a very stable position over the mooring in rough conditions.
